The National Bank of Ukraine has raised the forecast for growth of gross domestic product (GDP) for 2018 to 3.4% from 3.2%, the regulator’s press service writes.
“Economic growth will accelerate to 3.4% in 2018. The main driver of economic growth will be private consumption due to the continued high growth rates of real wages, as well as other incomes, including pensions,” the report said.
Recall, in November 2017 it was reported that Ukraine’s GDP grew by 2.1% on an annual basis. And the NBU predicted that in 2017 Ukraine’s GDP will grow by 2.2%.
As for the economic growth for 2018, the forecast was 3.2%, but slightly lowered forecast for economic growth in 2019 – 3.5% instead of the previously expected 4%.
